What We've Done

Over the years we've had some great opportunities to participate in some of the biggest events in the region down to some of the smaller events.

Project Name

The Sawtooth Relay is probably the relay that got us started. We've been trying to remember but we think we first started running Sawtooth in 2013. Since then we've sent well over a dozen teams to this really and it really is one of our favorites. As of 2022 the PMC Meanders boast the 3rd fastest time on the course all time by a cooperate team. That team is shown on the left.

If you are interested in learning more about the Sawtooth Relay visit their  website.

If running a single-day sprint relay wasn't enough we decided that we needed to run the big ones. 12 person overnight relays became a popular event for the Meanders. Our favorite was easily the Grand Teton Relay. This, now folded race, ran from Ashton Idaho to Jackson Wyoming. Seriously some of the best running back drops anywhere in the world.

Project Name

Our first overnight relay was a relay called the Epic relay. Named because, well, it was Epic. Its was long, 205 miles long and we ran it a few times. It ran from Logan Utah to Jackson Wyoming. A number of us came away addicted to running overnight relays. Not sure if it was the lack of sleep or running multiple 10k's in a day that we loved but there is just something about it

Then there is Ragnar. Without question this is the biggest relay organizing company out there. They run relays all over the world. The number that they do is dropping but they still have a fair number of them. We started out running the Wasatch Back relay in Utah. We've also been to the Las Vegas Ragnar. Wasatch is now a sprint relay and in 2021 the Meanders posted the fastest time ever on the new sprint course (the course changes every year). We highly recommend you check out our YouTube video from the 2021 victory. That can be found here.

After the Grand Teton Relay folded we were left scrambling for a race to do in early August. One of our members had a friend who was organizing and running a relay in Eastern Oregon. Yes its a long ways from East Idaho but we went for it. And quickly fell in love with this region and the relay. We've gone back almost every year since. Now the Elkhorn is a 1 day 6 runner event, but its still awesome!

One Relay that we love is the To Bone and Back relay which is ran in Idaho Falls, Idaho. We partially love this relay because its right in our backyard but also because its a ton of fun. Lots of local high school teams sign up so its fairly competitive, but also a lot of casual teams sign up. This really is a single-day, single leg relay. That means each runner only needs to run 5 miles - which a lot of people like. Over the years we've done well, but in 2022 we won the Co-Ed Division. Here is our finish that day
